Week 11: Finishing up Paper 2
Homework due Monday, Nov 10 at 6pm:
- Watch "Chardee Macdennis: The Game of Games" from Season 7 It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (if you missed class, it is available on Netflix) and answer the following on your blog:
- Watch Clue: The Movie (in class or on Netflix) and write 300+ words on how the writers of the movie adapted the game. What did they add? How did they use the mechanics of the game in the movie? Does the audience change from the game to the movie? Why or why not? How do they use the premise of the game for the plot or for humor?
- Respond to a peer's blog about Saboteur. (LAST RESPONSE! YAY!!!)
T, Nov. 4: Introduction to Paper 3.
- Homework due R, Nov. 6: Paper 2 Final Draft due. Make sure you follow all the requirements of the assignment.
R, Nov. 6: Paper 2 due. Games in class.
- Homework due R, Nov 13: Proposal for Paper 3. Should be 500 words explaining what your project is, why you want to do your project, and a little bit of information about your plan for the project. This proposal counts as Blog 12.
- Homework due R, Nov 13: Read "Chapter 4" from A Theory of Fun for Game Design (Course Library). Bring it printed to class. You will lose 15 points on Blog 12 if you do not print and bring it.
- Bring your computers for time to work on your paper.

- Homework due Tuesday, Nov 18: Watch Tabletop Deathmatch videos (click here for the link): "Introduction," "Prologue," and two other episodes of your choice (pick two games that sound interesting to you, not counting the "Final Episode").

Blog about how this episode uses storytelling to talk about games, how it relates to the way we've been talking about games all semester, who the audience of the blog is, etc. 400 + words.
